Boolean Logic

Book of digital prints on acetate

2015 marks the bicentenary of the birth of George Boole. His application of the principles of logic as a form of algebra underpins all modern computer science. Professor George Boole, widely regarded as the forefather of the Information Age, was the first Professor of Mathematics at University College Cork. The work in this book is inspired by my experience as a visual artist and a scientist who worked on the development and implementation of computer technology. This work was shown in installation form as part of Culture Night Ireland in Tyndall National Institute, UCC, in celebration of George Boole.

The book was also selected by Temple Bar Gallery, Dublin for their Book Art exhibition in 2015.
